Moving Day Part 2

Just thought I would post these pictures of our spacious apartment on moving day. As you can see we had a number of boxes that we took a couple of days to find space for. we finally manged to make the place very homey and comfortable. It works really well for us. It is a lot smaller than we were used to, but we rather enjoy the coseyness of the place.

These first two pictures are before and after shots from the dining room looking down the hall.
This is our "enormous" kitchen and since there was no microwave, our solution. Also our kitchen cabinets. These are sitting in the "breakfast nook" of the kitchen.

And finally here is my new sewing room.

Grandparent Paradise

This is now the view of my dining room/nursery. Since Chiara had to return to school today, I am now watching James for her.

I am sad she can't stay home, but glad that I am here to help the transition in caring for James. So for the next couple of months I will be babysitting again. Since we do not have our other grandchildren living close, it is nice to get to enjoy this little boy for a bit. He is so sweet, I love having him here. Wish I was where I could help with the other new babies in the family. But I will have to be content with visits for now.

Luckily we get a visit from Norah next week. She is also bringing her parents who we are excited to see also. The week after that we get to spend time with Avery and Emma. Oh, yea, they are bringing Ashlyn along and eventually Mike will join them, we are looking forward to seeing these parents too.

Great Way To Start Your Day

I received this in an email from my sister. Thought I would share it here. It is about 4 1/2 minutes long, but well worth it. A very beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace. Enjoy and hope it brightens your day as it did mine.

Happy Birthday

Moving Day ended with a celebration. Even though the actual day had been earlier in the week, (click here to see link), we waited until Saturday to celebrate the birthdays for Ken and Nathan. Of course the only pictures I have are of Nathan. Ken likes to stay in the background. We went to CiCi's Pizza and followed it with a Wall-E cake. It was a great evening and a great way to end a very busy day.

Moving Day

I have been quite busy lately but here is a little catchup. Moving Day finally arrived. Mike borrowed a truck and trailer from his boss for the actual furniture move. It was a great help. The roads at the apartment complex are not very wide and there is absolutely no parking. With the Denali truck Mike was able to carry the extra hands and the furniture in one load.

We had a lot of friends and youth show up to help which was all greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to Ken for being such a great extra hand for Mike that day. Also special thanks to Chiara and boys for being with me and helping me do what I needed to get done. Also we were very grateful to Mike's boss for the use of her truck and trailor.
