Hong Kong

Early this month, shortly after I returned from the states, Michael had a business trip to Hong Kong. We decided that I would go along to see the country. It was a great trip. The first night there Mike and I saw a little of the city together, then he worked the rest of the week and I took in the sights alone. It was great fun and I would love going again.

Here are a few pictures of the trip. This first one is the view from our hotel window. It was rated a 5 star hotel and very nice. Probably a little over classed for this southern girl, but still a great time. That first night we decided to visit the highest peak in Hong Kong. It is called Victoria Peak. You get to the top by a tram or funicular. Here is a picture of the tracks before we started up. It was very steep and only leveled out at the stops along the way.
These next two pictures are views from the top of the peak. It was really beautiful. We had a great view of the harbor. While on the top we ate at a little noodle shop. The food was very good. They only give you chop sticks to eat with, so we had fun learning how to use them. After dinner we went to a gelato shop. They had some of the most unusual flavors of ice cream. One was Strawberry and Basil. We each had a double scoop of gelato to enjoy.
These last two pictures are from Hong Kong Park. Directly across the street from the tram station was this park. It was simple beautiful. They had an aviary but it was closed when we went. There were ponds, an amphitheater, it was just really beautiful and pleasant to walk around. It was a great start to our 4 days in Hong Kong.

I never think of the beauty when I think of Hong Kong; only the city-scape and the hordes of people. Nice to see pictures of the beauty.
