TURKEY Part 12 -- Day 6

After lunch we went to a pottery factory. We had a demonstration by the Master of how they make the pots. Here he is starting with the mound of clay.
This is the finished product. It was amazing to watch him work.
After he finished his pot they gave one of us the opportunity to try making a pot. Mike volunteered and got to work.
He did have help from one of the workers a bit.


Here he is painting some striped on the pot.
And this is the final product. We didn't get to keep the pot, although that would have been really cool.
As time was short we had to leave after this part. We returned the next day to finish the tour. We had to leave because we had tickets to see a performance of the Whirling Dervishes. Here is a picture of the place where they performed. We were not allowed to take pictures during the performance. It was a very interesting evening. This event was held inside a caravanseri.
After this we went to dinner then to the hotel to rest for the next full day of activity.
